    12 keys alphanumeric keyboard support

    Hello,
I would like to connect USB external 12 keys alphanumeric keyboard (not QWERTY) to the android phone.
My question is if there is a 12 keys alphanumeric keyboard support in android 2.3 and higher? If any changes in kernel driver are required for that or may be only in application level?
    Thanks,
    -Anna

My understanding is that Android 2.3 does not support hosting USB devices (at all). As a result, you would be hard pressed to even find any Android 2.3 hardware that physically has a USB controller or ports on it.

I believe that Android 3 and higher supports USB keyboards. If your 12 key keyboard uses a standard keyboard interface, then it might work out of the box with Android 3+.

If it doesn't, I am not sure whether you could add support at the application level or not.
