    Game Framework/Engine For A Beginner

I want to create some very, very simple games for the Android (because I have a Android phone) not because I don't want to do a Apple device game.

Basically my skill sets and experience is a little bit of C and C++, a little bit more Python/Pygame and Javascript for webpages.

As I mentioned I want to make some very simple games and I'm asking you guys what would be a good choice for me? I don't want something too simple because I want some control but I don't want something over complicated and has lots of advanced features that I won't use in my simple games.

Suggestions will be much appreciated :-)

I dare recommend LibGDX. You will be able to find some books on it.

It allows you creating games which could be compiled for both Android and Apple devices. You will need to learn Java of course, but you should not expect "cool game engine suitable to languages I only know". I know several beginners who start with LibGDX and were quite glad.
