A 'Hanging Scan' - Any ideas why
Hi,
I am not an 'expert' so be gentle with me
Over the last few days I have noticed that when doing a virus scan on “My Computer”, expecting the scan to cover all files / folders etc.., when the scan reaches the following file it seems to ‘hang’, with occasional clicking sounds, as if a switch is being switched on and off. At this point, even though I press the ‘Cancel’ button I cannot stop the scan, if indeed anything is being scanned at this point.
Where the scan ‘hangs’ is at:
D:MiniNT\System32\ntlanman.dll
The scan, which as of this morning had scanned 104042 files before it ‘hung’, shows no files to be infected.
Can anyone please advise what the problem might be?
I await any comments with some anticipation!
Regards,
Alan
