AdWare Error
As of late my hotmail is taking a long time to load. I did an Ad-Aware scan which produced this error

POSSIBLE BROWSER HIJACK ATTEMPT

Can anyone shed any light on this? How can I find out if someone is spying on my computer? Can I find the source of this 'attempt'? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank-you, ailsa.

Please post a HijackThis log...

Download HijackThis. Make sure you install HijackThis to a permanent folder such as C:\HJT as it creates backups of what we will fix. Run the program, press Scan, after a brief pause... press Save log. Notepad will open, copy and paste the entire log into your post. Do not fix anything yet, most of what's in the log is needed!

v3cab seems to part of the hijacker Search Miracle. It seems you haven't been completely infected yet, or your HijackThis log would show it.

Make sure you are using Adaware 1.05. Update your Adaware reference file.

Boot into Safe Mode. Reboot your computer, start tapping F8 when it first starts booting, select Safe Mode.

Search for and delete: v3cab

Run Adaware and do a full system scan. Allow it to remove anything it finds.

Reboot normally and post a freh HijackThis log.

I don't see an antivirus program running in your log...

AVG has a new, free version available - AVG7 Free edition:

I don't see a firewall running in your log.

ZoneAlarm has a free firewall:

Both are necessary to keep your computer safe.
