Do we have to uninstall the existing antivirus program before installing a new one?

Do you have to... no.

But it's not recommended to have 2 different AV programs installed.

If you are looking to install a newer version of the same AV program, then during installation it may prompt you to uninstall the older one first. However, if it's just an upgrade, then you should be able to just install the upgrade version.

You should. There are some av programs that definitely interfere with each other if they are on the same machine.
