Are BMP files in this compressed file a Malware?
Respected All,
Hi There! This is Apoorva here! How are you all doing? Well, I am just surprised today to see my antivirus installed detecting few bmp files inside a compressed file as "Malware". This is an ISO file name:GRTMPVOL_EN.iso which I extracted to a folder as GRTMPVOL_EN.
Now, when I scan this folder for virus or malware, my Comodo Antivirus detected 6 files as:
"Unknown Malware (Dirty) 12730266 / 12730281 / 12730203 / 12730229 / 12730197 / 12730238."
How can a BMP file get infected with Malware? All these 6 bmp files detected as Malware is located inside a compressed file name: WinRAR.cab at the following path of my computer:
E:\Downloads\Windows XP Professional (SP3) VLK-Corporate-Volume\GRTMPVOL_EN\I386
I am unable to upload any attachment in this forum since this option is not available and since I am a new user, I am not allowed to provide links to uploaded screenshot on the web.
Kindly reply at your earliest so that I could goahead and burn this copy of XP on a blank disc and than install it on my desktop pc.
Regards,
Apoorva.
