ZoneAlarm seems to be the best choice for most people. You can start out with the free version, then decide later if you want to pay for the extra features in the Pro version.

Smoothwall
Hello
I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but have you considered a dedicated firewall? Smoothwall (found at www.smoothwall.org) is a linux distro that comes as an iso image, you burn it to a cd and install it on any old pc (a pentium II with more than 64 MB of RAM and a 2 GB HDD should do nicely, but you need at least 2 network adapters). And of course, you can always use some firewall software - such as e.g. zonealarm - on your pc (or pc's, smoothwall is a DHCP-server as well, among other things) for added security. My point is, it's better to keep the thief locked out of your house, than to try and keep him out of your jewel-case. Just my pennies worth. /Ian |
