Everytime I start my computer without a winxp boot disk, Eek writes the Master boot record and I have to use Nortons rescue CD to remove it from the MBR. Where is it lodged and how do I get rid of it completely cos my computer is dependant on a floppy disk to start.??

Hi beirti,
Symantec has manual removal instructions on their site: http://securityresponse.symantec.co...data/eek.b.html The instructions are for versions NAV 2001 and 2002. What version of Norton do you have? Does it still have the DOS scanner navdx.exe on it? Let me know if you need any help. Tom
