Cannot select any desktop icon
Hi, I don't seem to be able to select any of my desktop icon nor can I right click on them. When I right click on any icon, if seem like i am right click on desktop only. Pls Help.

I have attached a HijackThis log in case you need it.

Hi wintkt,

Your machine is lacking Service Pack 1 for IE and XP and probably many other critical updates. You are vulnerable to may exploits and security holes.

Download each critical update one by one, rebooting when necessary. Repeat this process until you get the message "no critical updates" message.

Then...

You have a coolwebsearch infection, among other things. Please download CWShredder from Here

Press "Check for Update" and download any new updates available.

Close ALL browser windows or it may not work! Unzip it to a convenient location such as your Desktop and select "Fix" (do not just Scan). It will automatically remove the infections.

Reboot and post a new log.

Hi, after the fix, the problem still exisit. So I did a reboot, the the icon can be selected again. Many thanks.

But I have another problem, my Media Player won't seem to be executed. Everytime I open an media file or even open the mpalayer application, nothing came on, even the task manager don't show anything.

i I have hit HijackThis again after reboot and with all application closed.

I see you did not get your Windows Updates. You are left wide open for infections and all kinds of problematic ussues with your computer. There may be updates for your media player too, I suggest taking the time to get protected.

Yor log is clean except for two resource hogs that can be safely deleted.

Run HijackThis, place a checkmark next to the following items. Close ALL other windows and browsers except HijackThis. Click "fix checked".
