Alright well I went ahead with a manual removal and I got most of the problems to disappear. I no longer have my homepage hijacked, no more favorites added, and no more popups. The only thing now is when I run Hijackthis I still have a few of the files from the original problem, I'll highlight the one's I think are problematic. There was also one line that I was not to sure about when choosing what to get rid of "O15 - Trusted IP range: 206.161.125.149" I decided not to get rid of it, but i think it may have been the one line that created the other ones around it since no other pieces of the problem regenerated themselves.

Thanks Tom, well I still get virus warnings in my scans with avg, and spybot, along with others. I just want to know if I should get rid of the virus all together or if for now it's just no real threat. Ohh and in my internet option there's an option next to home pages that says, "use blank" after "use default" which links to the original "about:blank" homepage invader. Besides that the only other thing I notice is virus warning from my virus scanners but nothing else. Here is my log

You might want to print these instructions for reference or copy and paste them into notepad and save them on your desktop, as you will be off the internet while using HijackThis.

If you have any questions before starting the fix, please don't hesitate to ask!

Please go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove programs and remove:

Web Rebates

Logoff your internet connection. Run HijackThis, click scan, place a checkmark next to the following items. Close all browsers and any other windows or the fix may not work! Click "fix checked". It is OK if some of these items are no longer listed.

O8 - Extra context menu item: Web Rebates - file://C:\Program Files\Web_Rebates\Sy1150\Tp1150\scri1150a.htm

O15 - Trusted IP range: 206.161.125.149
O15 - Trusted IP range: 206.161.124.130 (HKLM)

These are resource hogs that can be fixed also:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE

Search for and delete the following folders:

C:\Program Files\Web_Rebates < delete the entire Web_Rebates folder

Next....

Go to Start > Run > type "cleanmgr" (without the quotes). > Select the drive to clean up (usually C ) > Place a checkmark next to the following:

Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin
Temporary Files

Then click OK.

Next...

I would like you to perform an onlne virus scan at Trend Micro Housecall

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Select all of your drives listed for scanning. Please check "Auto clean" before scanning.

Please copy and paste the report logs from the scan into your next post. If you can't capture the information, please write down what was found and if anything was or was not deleted. Please include this information in your next post along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Please post a fresh HijackThis log.

Alright well I did what you said and I did the scan I had quite a few things pop up this is what I got

JAVA BYTEVER.A
JAVA BYTEVER.A-1
JAVA FEMAD.B
TROJ KEENVALUE.B

It said they were non-cleanable but I was able to delete them. The last one was in C:\Documents and Settings\Bill\Local Settings\Temp while the others were in C:\Documents and Settings\Bill\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cach\javapi\v1.0\jar

As for the Hijack log I got rid of most of the things, but some how all of the trusted zones and IP's came back that I got rid of. As for the "web_rebates" folder, that's gone only thing left now is the trusted zones. Here is my updated "hijackthis" log

Hey Tom, ummm for some reason after I typed up my response trend micro, as long as my reply was reset for some odd reason I don't know if it has to do with the trojan. Anyhow I guess I'll type it again, alright with regedit I could only find two of the files and deleted them. Next I opened housecall and scanned my c drive and got 4
"JAVA BYTEVER.B" files which were non cleanable so I deleted them. After that in hijack this I only had 2 "015" files which were the ip range ones which I deleted along with the "023" service one. Finally after turning on the option to see hidden files on my windows explorer I can still not find "C:\WINDOWS\zeta.exe". I also wanted to ask you about something, does the "TROJ_GHETTO.A" affect sound and software files b/c I have tried to open files on my computer one software, and one sound after scanning them, and both from different sources. Yet when they try to open an msdos command prompt comes up and it says that the files can not run in an msdos cp. I have also tried numerous times to delete them but they always say that they are being used by a source or program and to try to close it, yet nothing is running.

ummmmm I think I have sp2, and I'm not gonna change my browser, I just want to solve this problem. Now I'm also getting warnings from AVG about "trojan horse collected.2.f", "trojan horse drpper.small.5.j", and from spybot I got a eacceleration warning, why am I getting so many viruses this is ridiculous!
