you got hit with adware etc. quite a bit of it too

read the sticky on the top of the forum. download the software mentioned there. most fo the stuff you have would be picked up by adaware and spybot etc. then post your hijack logs..
but most of the stuff should go.

i also think you probably got troajned apps on your system. so make sure you run
sfc /scannow after you clean up the ad stuff.

i noticed you have limewire. i heard this is a potential source of spyware just like Kazaa. use it with caution.

i also think you system is trojaned. run "sfc /scannow" from the cmd prompt. consider doing a format and re-install. if not that much then at least do a repair installation (not recovery console but repair install). i you dont know how.. post here and i'll try and guide you about that.

whoops..that was a bad bad post. sorry tom.. my mistake. will be much more careful when posting a list like that again. but i was not sure.

why would he need the msnmsg ? its outdated and wont work. you need to have msnmessenger 6.2 or later. it usually get installed sperately .. at least on my pc it did.

sorry once again. was really careless of me not to double check the list.

It's just a button on the IE toolbar, or an item in IE "Tools" menu. It is not the executable MSMSGS.EXE program itself.

so that would make it a button to an exe which doesnt serve any purpose coz it is outdated. the newer msn messengers install to a folder called "MSN Messenger". and the one that , that button points to is the bundled on with xp. anyway.. not important. thanks for the info.

I see where you are going with this, and I agree partially. But until the Startup List changes the "U" - User's choice - depends whether a user deems it necessary classification to something else, I will not have someone fix it with HijackThis.
