This time it is my friends computer.
Here goes how did it all started. One day last week AV software reported virus TR/Dldr.PurityS.E.2 in archive MediaInstaller[1].cab that was found in Temporary Internet files. File was deleted that moment. After that phone number in DialUp settings was changed to some strange number (something like: 0043...). I've changed that number. But when IE was started that odd number was again in settings (default IE home page was about:blank). I've changed home page to google.com and everything was fine, even after restart of windows. But next morning same thing happened...that number was back! And AV software reports this message randomly: c:\windows\system32\explorer.exe This file contains suspicius code Heuristic/Trojan.Downloader! And when I try to print from Outlook or IE same message appears! New virus definition file and updated version of AV is installed. After scanning nothing was found. Please help. Hi ivanapmf,
Let's start here: Download Stinger. Save it to your Desktop. Double-click it to start it. Make sure all of your drives are listed in the "Directories to scan" box (C:\ D:\ E:\, etc.). Click the Scan Now button and let it remove anything it finds. http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ Next... Perform an onlne virus scan from this site: Trend Micro Housecall - Again, select all of your drives to be scanned. Please check "Auto clean" before scanning. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ If you can, copy and paste the report logs from the scans into your next post. Next.... Please update HijackThis, you are using an outdated version: Open HijackThis, click Config > Misc Tools > Check for Update online Or download a copy of version 1.98.2 at: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html Post a fresh log with this new version. Tom
