Explorer using 50%-60% 0f CPU and 48ram
Hello all
Your help is needed. I am running XP Home Edition SP1 on a Celeron CPU 2.2GHz 256MB ram. I have found that recently Windows Explorer has helped itself to about 50% - 60% of the CPU (it constantly fluctuates between 15% - 60%), thus limiting how much is left for programs. This makes running any task a long and laborious process. Explorer’s use of memory also goes up when I run a program from about 20meg to 48meg again this affects the speed my programs can run at. I have run Adaware and Hijack this but I can’t seem to find the problem, I have attached the hijack this log below. I have also run sfc /scannow but this does not seem to do anything, I believe it is not working as the file protection window does not open. Help Help Heeellllppp….. I may revert to beating twenty kinds of sh*t out of it with a big stick. (^^;?(I think you surely have problems.)
Having a look at run menu only, it's truely weird. Particularly, winsystems.exe would be a kind of virus. But as here is wrong place to post this log, put it antivirus section. Then post here its result report to repair Windows or reinstall. |

(^^;?(I think no one can specify it so easily. Though it seems to be Update manager originally.)
Virus often disguise itself as important files and even anti-virus files boldly. In any ways, although this log is not so long, but seems to be full of spywares. None the less, sfc cannot verify it, it means that system is completely hijacked and Adaware and others disabled. Clean Installation highly recommended. |

You might want to print these instructions for reference or copy and paste them into notepad and save them on your desktop, as you will be off the internet while using HijackThis.
If you have any questions before starting the fix, please don't hesitate to ask! Logoff your internet connection. Run HijackThis, click scan, place a checkmark next to the following items. Close all browsers and any other windows or the fix may not work! Click "fix checked". It is OK if some of these items are no longer listed. I was reading through some of the other posting and noticed that you recommend removing Viewpoint Media Player, so I went and had a look at Add/Remove and found that this is installed on my PC although I don't think it is running, should I delete it???? Thanx again. |
