Since then I have used both and am satisfied. I would recommend Comodo over Avira, just because Avira can annoy you with pop ups wanting you to upgrade to the paid version.

Avast is a FREE and decent AV, I use it on my laptop. Currently running Nod32 on my desktop that I do alot of downloading on. Previously used Bit Defender that one I do not recommend.

Agree. I suggest you to not use this because it removes corrupted system files too which is a problematic task for us rather we may reinstall windows but i don't think it is a good option. I would love to suggest you to use avira. and if you want more protection then you may use malwarebytes and comodo firewall with it this will give you far better protection with the lots more other troubles too. Combi of these three is a great solution.

Free antivirus software are nice but do not have all features enable. So I recommend you to buy a complete package of antivirus..
But otherwise McAfee is good one...it also have best Internet security..

Using AVG on this computer and it has not done the job as evidenced by following to procedures suggested and all I found, plus the Run DLL error I am still working on. Someone else suggested AVAST as 98% accurate??? Doesn't sound like AVG is too popular on here and haven't heard much on AVAST overall... guess I'll keep my ear to the ground :-)
