On post #5 above it reads:

* Download FindIt's.zip
  • Unzip it to your desktop. Make sure the FindIt's.bat and XFind.com are together in the same UNZIPPED folder!
  • Doubleclick FindIt's.bat. When the scan is done, it will produce a log.
  • Post that log in your next reply together with a fresh HijackThis log and the log from Ewido.

Create a new folder on the Desktop and call it FindIt. Download FindIt's.zip to the new folder you just created on the desktop. Right-click FindIt's.zip and chose "Extract". Follow the prompts and it will extract the files to the new folder. Open the new folder and make sure FindIt's.bat and XFind.com are there. Now double-click FindIt's.bat and a window will popup and tell you it is scanning. Please be patient! It will take a while to run. When it's complete, notepad will open with a log in it (log.txt) copy and paste the contents of that log into your next post.

Also post the log from Ewido and a fresh HijackThis log

Let me know if you have any other trouble with it.

Tom

Security Software ?

Lisa's pc is looking very clean,thanks to you guys! I have about one step to go! I wanted your opinion on some security software I use and some I'm thinking of buying! This question may help others as well as myself! I use Adaware,Spybot, Microsoft Beta Antispyware program, SpywareBlaster,and SpywareGuard(all freeware).I run AVAST free Anti-Virus. I also have the Panicware Popup Blocker. I have the free version of ZoneAlarm. I'm thinking about buying Counterspy, and now Ewido. Also do you think AVG free antivirus is better than AVAST? I've noticed that the Counterspy program finds things that it's baby brother, the Microsoft Beta Anti Spyware program misses! What are your recommendations? Should I dump some of the freeware? Should I buy those two? (Counterspy and Ewido?)Thanks,Tom! Teacher4u/Jerry
PS. We have 4 pcs connected to the net via high speed cable at around 3000kbps!

Speed Meter

Bandwidth = 2910.1 Kbps

I have never used Avast products, I have heard some questionable things about them. I highly recommend AVG Free. It's a great product!

Sunbelt CounterSpy (sunbelt-software.com) is powered by GIANT (code independently owned by Sunbelt).

Since Giant was bought out by Microsoft (Microsoft beta antispyware) it seems useless to pay for the same functionality you are getting for free from Microsofy antispyware.

A firewall is required for complete internet security, I have not looked at your log yet, but every computer on the internet needs one. The firewall that comes with XP Service Pack 2 is not enough! Get Zone Alarm or Sygate!

Please post a fresh HijackThis log.

Tom

I suggest starting out with the free edition of Sygate. Later, if you feel you would like more functionality, upgrade to the paid version.

Please post a fresh HijackThis log. I really doubt if the first fix I posted took care of everything.

Tom
