Google issues

I have a gripe with google, I am finding it a little bit too intrusive for my likings.
First gripe is youtube and google accounts being merged, now everytime I log in to youtube google logs me into its webmail.
I dont know why as my email address is supplied by my provider and is not webmail.

Secondly the other day I was playing around on one of those quiz sites, then a few minutes later I received a spam email from the site.
Now how did this site harvest my private email address when I never gave it out?

I use the supposedly secure FireFox and it irks me that google logs me into the mail all the time and my email address is always on full display in the top right hand corner (logged in!.. as if I care).

What intrusive rubbish!
Lets face it we can all check our email without google unbeknowingly logging us in to their email network.

I feel it is insecure as there must be an identifying cookie or some vulnerable information that simply allows sites to harvets email addresses from your browser,This of course would be illegal.
It wasn't a problem until google forced your email addy into browser.

That is exactly why I have a hotmail address I use exclusively for websites like facebook, google & youtube and many other websites. That way all the rubbish goes there instead of my personal email addy. I hate that too when it fills up with offers and "do I want viagra" junk. Anyway, just a thought
