high cpu usage- IE hangup- new problem- "proxy override"
I am having problems getting internet explorer to start. cpu usage is at 100% and is stuck for 5 minutes or so. here's the log from hijack this- please help!!

i went over your log, and i could not find anything of serious concern in this log.

You should fix the following entries though

You have a proxy setup, but the following settings are overriding it. You should fix these as well

After something like this it is a good idea to Flush the Restore Points and start fresh.
To flush the XP system Restore Points.

Go to Start>Run and type msconfig Press enter.

When msconfig opens, click the Launch System Restore Button.
On the next page, click the System Restore Settings Link on the left.

Check the box labeled Turn off System restore on all Drives.

Post abck with a freash hijackthis log. If you are still experiancing problems with your system, please try and give us a few more details.

Try running the following command form the run prompt
"sfc /scannow"
you will need your xp sp2 cd handy for this.

Exclamation Problems with "Proxy Override" entry
I am now having problems with the proxy override entry on hijack this... it reappears when i connect to the internet. everytime. everything works fine when i fix it.
