100% cpu usage win xp svchost.exe
i too am getting horrendous 100% cpu usage on my new win xp sp2 system. i have found that one of the svchost.exe is the culprit and i can end it without problems (nothing dies and all programs work normally) and cpu usage drops back to normal. when i re-boot the process starts again and chews up the cpu again.
problem is, i know that svchost.exe is required but there is obviously something wrong. what can i do about it? i have symantec norton anti-virus, spybot and adaware. nothing found. thanks |
