Hijack This log - help with winlogon.exe
Hi - I've just got a new computer which was running very well. However I have noticed some slowdown recently and checking the Process information in Task Manager, a process called Winlogon.exe is constantly running and taking up anywhere from 50% to 90% of the CPU.
Below is the log from HiJAck This Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7 Scan saved at 14:57:03, on 06/06/2004 Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\DRIVERS\CDANTSRV.EXE C:\Program Files\Symantec_Client_Security\Symantec AntiVirus\DefWatch.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7Debug\mdm.exe C:\Program Files\Symantec_Client_Security\Symantec AntiVirus\Rtvscan.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\nvsvc32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZoneLabs\vsmon.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\taskswitch.exe C:\PROGRA~1\SYMANT~1\SYMANT~1\vptray.exe C:\WINDOWS\SOUNDMAN.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\RUNDLL32.EXE C:\Program Files\Conexant\AccessRunner ADSL\CnxDslTb.exe C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_04\bin\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Messenger\MSMSGS.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntvdm.exe C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\ymsgr_tray.exe C:\Program Files\mozilla.org\Mozilla\mozilla.exe C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-aware 6\Ad-aware.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\my downloads\program downloads\hijack this\HijackThis.exe R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = URL O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - C:\PROGRA~1\Yahoo!\COMPAN~1\Installs\cpn\ycomp5_3_12_0.dll O2 - BHO: (no name) - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll O3 - Toolbar: &Radio - {8E718888-423F-11D2-876E-00A0C9082467} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\msdxm.ocx O3 - Toolbar: &Yahoo! Windows Me/XP uses this feature, which is enabled by default, to restore the files on your computer in case they become damaged. If a virus, worm, or Trojan infects a computer, System Restore may back up the virus, worm, or Trojan on the computer. Windows prevents outside programs, including antivirus programs, from modifying System Restore. Therefore, antivirus programs or tools cannot remove threats in the System Restore folder. As a result, System Restore has the potential of restoring an infected file onto your computer, even after you have cleaned the infected files from all the other locations. Also, a virus scan may detect a threat in the System Restore folder even though you have removed the threat. For instructions on how to turn off System Restore, read your Windows documentation, or one of the following articles: How to turn off or turn on Windows XP System Restore http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...src=sec_doc_nam |
