OK if your still having the same problems, lets take this a step further.

Run HijackThis, Place a checkmark next to the following items. CLOSE ALL other windows and browsers except HijackThis. Click "Fix checked".

Please download TheKillbox from here: http://download.broadbandmedic.com/VbStuff/KillBox.zip

Unzip the files to a folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. In the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste the following:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\fbmfc.dl

Don't click any of the buttons though, instead please click on the Action menu and choose "Delete on Reboot". On the next screen, click on the File menu and choose "Add File". The filenameand path should show up in the window. If that's successful, choose the Action menu and select "Process and Reboot". You'll be prompted to reboot, do so.

Please download CWShredder from Here

Press "Check for Update" and download any new updates available.

Close ALL browser windows or it may not work! Unzip it to a convenient location such as your Desktop and select "Fix" (do not just Scan). It will automatically remove the infections.

Now with the pv program you downloaded before: http://tools.zerosrealm.com/pv.zip

Please double click the runme.bat again. This time chose option 6 for appinit contents.
Notepad will open with a log in it. Please copy and paste it into the results.

Ok 1 more minor cleanup.

Please double click the runme.bat again. please chose option 7. after that is done run it one more time and chose option 6 and post the new appinit log here.

Post a new Hijackthis log also when done.

Tom Myboy, Thank you for your help. I hope it lasts as well. I ran ad-aware and it was the first time it didnt find the file "HomeOldSp" (I think thats what it was). So maybe it has worked. I'll cross my fingers. Thanks again.

Tom Myboy, I hope you have some more ideas. It seems to have come back. After being able to turn my computer on and off without the homepage changing, I have now turned it on for the first time since this morning and the about:blank page is back.

Other than following the same steps we did the last time, I am out of ideas.

and see if someone has any other ideas!

This strain of CWS is one of ther hardest to remove. If you have any luck there, maybe you could post what worked for you here.
