What I've found out yesterday is that the "mk" and the "MSITS" are both two protocols of IE. I read somewhere that you can use REGEDIT and put a "-" in front of the CLASSIDs of these two protocols. They can be found in
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ PROTOCOLS But if you don't wanna do this, you can also download AdAware with their latest DAT file from LavaSoft. Last night, I scanned my HD with AdAware and it did find "CoolWebSearch" in my "mk" and "MSITS" protocol classids. It also found 27 other spywares (WOW! and ****! )I don't know if the mk@MSIT **** will come back or not. But for now, my HD is clean thanks to AdAware. Please don't forget to download the latest DAT file from their site. The installation software doesn't come with the latest DAT. |
