Hmm ... if it wont let you download it while in Windows normally, reboot into Safe Mode (F8 before Windows loads) and make sure you can see hidden files and delete the ApptoPort.dll. Just do a search for it and delete it where ever it is.

If it was being used before, it's not now.

That should fix it. Try rebooting and see.

Hold up. You might not want to delete it at all. AppToPort.dll is a dll from:

Wyvernworks Firewall
Bulletproof Software Ad-Spyware Remover

If you have either of these installed, I suggest you not delete these.

Good luck!

Tom Myboy agrees: This is a valid dll. Do not remove it without sound advice!

Hi, I am having exactly the same problem with removing the file AppToPort.dll. When i change the name of the directory where it is in, i get an error message TCP/IP config incorrect, IP adress can not be renewed. Can anyone help me please how to remove this file without creating an error elsewhere.
Thanks and greetings from Holland

Wink

Hi All just download lspfix from majorgeeks, read the notes and fix apptoport.dll.

You ought to check with hijackthis as well, just to make sure your system is fine.

If not sure, there are plenty of online forums out there, with loads of very geeky persons (a bit like myself :-) ) who are able and willing to help.

Hope this helps,

schneki

Tom Myboy disagrees: Please do not offer powerful tools like LSPfix unless you know what you are doing!

i am not sure why you would want to remove this file. It is a safe and valid component of a firewall software. None the less if you do want to remove it, go to the run prompt and type the following command
"regsvr32 -u AppToPort.dll "
then navigate to the file on your pc, after locating it with windows search and delete it.
Although i'm am assuming you do not want your firewall to work anymore because this will definitely cause the firewall Wyvernworks, to malfunction if it is still installed on your pc.

Hi erichan,

Please download HijackThis. Make sure you install HijackThis to a permanent folder such as C:\HJT as it creates backups of what we will fix.

Run the program, click the button at the top "Do a system scan and save a logfile". Save the log to a convenient place such as C:\HJT Notepad will open, copy and paste the entire log into your post. Do not fix anything yet, most of what's in the log is needed!
