Yes, that's the only way we are going to get the malware off your computer.

First, make sure you have Spybot Search and Destroy 1.3 installed and have downloaded the most recent updates.

Make sure you have Adaware 1.05 installed and have downloaded the most recent updates.

Make sure Norton Antivirus has the most recent updates.

Have Stinger saved to your desktop.

Enable everything in MSConfig.

Reboot into Safe Mode (tap F8 when computer first begins booting).

Run all the tools listed above while in Safe Mode, one at a time. Allow each tool to remove everything they find.

Next....

Go to Start > Run > type "cleanmgr" (without the quotes). > Select the drive to clean up (usually C ) > Place a checkmark next to the following:

Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin
Temporary Files

Then click OK.

Reboot normally and post a fresh HijackThis log.

Sorry for the delay again, I've been temporarily cut off from the web by my cable operator, who still worry about not being able to monitor my traffic.
All tools indicated found no problems to fix after all MSconfig Startups were enabled (except for 49 negligible MRVs by Ad-Aware). IExplorer runs normally; system back to slowed-down efficiency with all sturtups loaded. Disable to previous selection?

You might want to print these instructions for reference or copy and paste them into notepad and save them on your desktop, as you will be off the internet while using HijackThis.

Please go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove programs and remove:

SrchUpdt if it is listed.

Next...

Logoff your internet connection. Run HijackThis, click scan, place a checkmark next to the following items. Close all browsers and any other windows or the fix may not work! Click "fix checked". It is OK if some of these items are no longer listed.

Next...

Boot into Safe Mode. Reboot your computer, start tapping F8 when it first starts booting, select Safe Mode.

Make sure your computer is configured to show all files and folders.
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden Files and Folders heading select Show Hidden Files and Folders.
Uncheck hide extensions for known file types.
Uncheck the Hide Protected Operating System Files option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Search for and delete the following files:

C:\WINDOWS\srchupdt.exe

Search for and delete the following folders:

C:\Program Files\Bouncer

Next....

Go to Start > Run > type "cleanmgr" (without the quotes). > Select the drive to clean up (usually C ) > Place a checkmark next to the following:

Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin
Temporary Files

Then click OK.

Reboot normally.

Please browse to c:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe and right click iexplore.exe > properties. Is it listed as a Microsoft file in the Version tab?

Please post a fresh HijackThis log.
