IE Homepage Hijacked

Hello all,

I am a newbie here and found this forum by searching through Google due to a problem with a neighbours computer.

The IE on his machine was hijacked by coolweb (??) and we worked to clean it all up but now everytime he restarts the computer the default homepage goes back to about:blank. SpySweeper notifies each time the page is changed which seems to be every few minutes.

He had Norton Internet Security installed and it didn't catch it (or installed it was after infection). We have installed and run Ad-aware, SpySweeper, CWSsweeper, SpyBot Search & Destroy and none of these have fixed the problem...even though we found tons of other problems and fixed all of them. I installed HijackThis today and have included the log below as I am unsure what exactly to delete.

I appreciate any help.

Regards,
Wayne

Run a program such as ad-aware.
I had the same problem but it was clever and stopped me accessing the registry to manually change it (it also disabled the options in internet explorer).

Running ad-aware notified me of what was happening. There were registry keys preventing me changing everything back (and since i couldn't access the regedit, i couldn't change them back).

Clicked on next and ad-aware automatically removed all traces of it.. Try this program, it might resolve your problem.
