IE homepage hijacked and regedit cannot run ?

IE homepage hijacked and regedit cannot run ?

i have a pc but after going online yesterday, i found some alarming problems.

1) when i go to Internet Options, there was this address

http://www.whatsfind.com/page.html

but the buttons use current, use default and use blank was disabled.

2) Additionally, i CANNOT run regedit ??

when i run or click on that program, it says registry editing has been disabled by your
administrator.

This has never happened before.

How can i recover from these 2 problems ?


I installed Norton Antivirus, Spybot search and destroy but it failed to find anything ??

It's a CoolWebSearch infection...

Download HijackThis. Make sure you install HijackThis to a permanent folder such as C:\HJT as it creates backups of what we will fix. Run the program, press Scan, after a brief pause... press Save log. Notepad will open, copy and paste the entire log into your post. Do not fix anything yet, most of what's in the log is needed!
