Internet Explorer Not Working

I am not sure what happened but internet explorer will not open at all. I have the icon at the bottom left of my screen near my start menu and when I click on it the curser arrow flashes to a hourglass like it was going to open but it doesn't. Its almost like I have a pop up stoper working but I don't. I have tried deleting the icons and reinstalling IE but it doesn't help. I am running windows NT. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Cuddles

It sounds like you have some malware/spyware on you system that is gumming up IE. Since you are unable to access the internet, see if you can find a way to get your hands on a copy of Adaware or SpyBot (they're free). A quick scan will really suprise you as to what is lurking on your machine.

Goto Google come and look for a program by merjlin called "Hijaak This" (spelling) and download it - close internet explorer and then run it, and it will show you everything attached to internet explorer.

And it has option to remove it.

Whoaaaa!!! Do not do that!

Running willy-nilly into a HijackThis log and deleting stuff is a good way to render your machine inoperable. Run HijackThis and post the log to a forum for help.

Then what were you telling them to do? Just look at the log and notice what's there?

Question what is happening

I have scanned the pc with Adaware and
still no good i tried to up date adaware and scan via the network but that was un successfull as well.

On start up while the pc is preparing network connections i get a SVChost Application ERROR

"the instruction at 0x77e61d24 refrenced memory at 0x00000007 the memory could not be read.

Click ok to terminate the program
Click cancel to debug the program

I have also stoped all programs from running on startup Via Msconfig.

I cannot even open up explorer windows e.g. my computer Controll panel .

Another thing that might help is if anyone would know an alternative to accessing app and system logs.

This issue is driving me crazy

PLZ Help

Hi jimmy123,

Enable everything in MSConfig. Go to Start > Run > msconfig > click Startup Tab > everything should have a checkmark to the left of it.

Download HijackThis. Make sure you install HijackThis to a permanent folder such as C:\HJT as it creates backups of what we will fix. Run the program, press Scan, after a brief pause... press Save log. Notepad will open, copy and paste the entire log into your post. Do not fix anything yet, most of what's in the log is needed!
