Angry Internet explorer shuts down every 2 minutes?

Hi everyone, I was wondering whether anyone knew what my computer is doing!

Everytime I open Internet Explorer, it shuts itself down after about 2 minutes of browsing time, even if I'm not finished!

A couple of days ago, I got a pop-up saying that there is a virus in IE and gave me an option to scan now or ignore. I ignored cos I thought it was BS.

Is there really a virus? How do I get rid of it? Has anyone else had this happen?

Thanks and much appreciated in advance.

First, scan you PC with an antivirus software with the latest definition file and make sure you don't have any virus.

You might also want to download Spybot Search & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/) and AdAware, (www.lavasoftusa.com/) update both of them and scan at least every couple of days.

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks heaps guys. Really great help.

However, it is happening to Microsoft FrontPage now! Would it be the same flaw?

By the way, I did a scan and I don't have any viruses. I have Norton SystemWorks 2002 installed.

Oh, this computer! I'm ready to kick it in!

I use Mcafee's Stinger to quash to most
popular of viruses and it cleans and repairs
fast. Even with a full scan, I would also run
STINGER:

toots82,

r u running windows xp, if so this may be your problem. This problem may occur if you have set Windows and buttons to Windows XP style.
