Lost Desktop and Taskbar windows explorer won't open

HELP! I lost desktop and start taskbar when viewing jpeg image. I ran adware, spybot and alert spy. Still no desktop. I downloaded hijack this! But need help from here. Any help would be gratly appreciated! Thanks How do I post my log file from hijack this?

Do you use SBC? Post hijack log. What virus/spyware protection do you have?

no I don;t use sbc. I have broadband through insight. I do use yahhoo as my homepage but that has changed also. I USE ADWARE AND SPYBOT.I HAVE RUN HIJACK THIS BUT DON'T KNOW HOW TO POST LOG. Do I have to manually type out the log for you to see or can I insert it someway. Thanks

Try d/loading webroot spysweeper and avg. See if they come up with anything. Be sure and turn off system restore before you do this though. Also, reboot into safe mode, does your desktop remain, or disappear? Disable everything in your msconfig file for now...(run..msconfig...selective startup..disable all). See if that fixes the problem. If it does, re-enable everything one by one until the problem happens again. Most likely virus/spyware though. What kind of jpeg was it?
