Question LSPfix broke off my Internet connection!!

Hello friends,
I used LSPfix by cexx.org suggested by a friend( not from this forum) on my Home PC last week to remove some spyware etc and removed all WINSOCK LSP items identified by it.
What happened?
IE and Mozilla Firefox could never get back on the net again.
Is it because I was foolish and need to know more before trying this Fix or is it a problem with LSPfix itself?
Finally my system admin restored the net connection after Reinstalling the OS--WIN2K SP4

Any tips/ remarks greatly appreciated

Thanks

Nagesh

Hi csn61,

LSPfix will show both good and bad files. That is why I am very critical of people offering "quick fixes" they know little about

Fixing the wrong files will break your LSP stack and you will lose your internet connection.

Many of the tools that are used to disinfect a computer can cause more harm than good in the wrong hands

Tom

Yes..wrong hands indeed... I will never play around with this stuff...May be Anti Virus check, SpyBot and ADaware are enough for 'Non Techies' like me?
Of Course, I am Post Graduate Civil Engineer doing CAD work...But so what...
Point taken..

Thanks
