Master Boot record changes by virus
Last Sunday When I run performed a full virus scan with Norton, I get the message that my master boot record has changed. The scan does not detect a virus. If I boot the system from the floppy I created when I installed Windows98 and use the Fdisk/MBR command, will the original boot record be restored? Will this destroy the data on the hard drive? Is there any other way the boot record can be repaired without destroying the data on the drive?
I have Windows Xp Pro. please help, my system is getting slower n slower. and it hangs sometimes.
