Worldbuilder if you do have a link to thread that helped you solve your problem please pm me the link and i will add it to this thread so that other people can be helped. For now i will close this thread since your problem is solved.
If anybody else has a similar problem, please start a new thread. read the forum stickies for information on hijackthis, and how to go about obtaining Hijackthis, and scaning your computer. as far as possible please post a log, along with the discription fo the problems you are having.
