need info about a this file: RegST.exe

hi there

Today i noticed my computer was working slowly so i checked out what was running and found like 5 regst.exe processes. Tryed to find info but im not sure of what i got:

at symantec (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/trojan.diskfil.html )

some other (http://www.vsantivirus.com/diskfill-c.htm)

... both say it may be a virus called diskfill wich reproduces windows files to fill disk space. Byt I only found a file RegST.exe at windows/system32 (win 2000). But didnt find any other files as described there. I did stop all those processes (obviouly my pc started working fine again) and scanned with norton and housecall but didnt detect anything so i renamed the suspicious file till i find more info or get safe trojan virus scanner.

Any help will be appreciated . Thanx anyway

Hi fade011,

Yep, it's a baddie!

Please download HijackThis. Make sure you install HijackThis to a permanent folder such as C:\HJT as it creates backups of what we will fix. Run the program, click the button at the top "Do a system scan and save a logfile". Save the log to a convenient place such as C:\HJT Notepad will open, copy and paste the entire log into your post. Do not fix anything yet, most of what's in the log is needed!
