PLEASE HELP 100% cpu usage!
my computer is fine when i first turn it on but in my task manager after about one minute it will change to 100% CPU usage. I know im not using 100% of it. I dont know whats wrong, but things are really horribly laggy, it was a task to even post this. I cant do anything, play my games, i mandaged to run adaware, norton didnt pick anything up, and its too laggy anyway, i tries spybot, and now hijackthis. this is my file from hijackthis.

One of them would be WORM_AGOBOT.HM or its kind. Now your security programmes should be disabled and your PC may be being remote-controlled by cracker now with game CD-key, password, username etc. stolen.

In time, this thread will be moved to Spyware forum. But I advise you to clean install it immediately after minimum backup, from Windows Forum.

how would i come of doing this? id really like to fix the problem without uninstalling everything and doing it all again. if it helps, my comp comes with that restore option where i go back in time on it...

You might want to print these instructions for reference, as you will be off the internet while using HijackThis.

Open 'Add/Remove Programs' in the Control Panel. Select the 'My Search Bar' (MySearch variant), 'MyWay Speed Bar' (MyWay) or 'My Web Search Bar' (MyWeb) entry and click 'Remove'. For the MyWeb variant, be sure to also remove 'Fun Web Products Easy Installer'. Also uninstall 404 Search, WebRebates, Inet Delivery and ClockSync if present.

Then....

Please move or unzip HijackThis to a permanent folder such as C:\HJT\ It is important that it is in it's own folder as it will make important backups of what we will fix. Please open My Computer > double-click your C:\ drive > File > New > Folder > name it HJT and put HijackThis into that folder.

Logoff your internet connection. Run HijackThis, close all browsers and any other windows, place a checkmark next to the following items. Click "fix checked".

Then....

Boot into Safe Mode. Reboot your computer, start tapping F8 when it first starts booting, select Safe Mode.

Make sure your computer is configured to show all files and folders.
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden Files and Folders heading select Show Hidden Files and Folders.
Uncheck the Hide Protected Operating System Files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Delete the following folders:

C:\Program Files\404Search\404Search.dll
C:\Program Files\Inet Delivery\
C:\Program Files\Web_Rebates\
C:\Program Files\ClockSync\

Reboot normally and post a fresh HijackThis log.

umm...I hope you help some more tom, i did everything you said, except after being in safe mode i couldnt find where to delete those files, I deleted some of the other ones in hijackthis and ad remove programs but some wouldnt delete...I still need help my computer is at 100% yet. I have a new hijackthis log.

If they are in the folder or subfolder that HijackThis runs from, this is the normal backups that HijackThis makes when removing malware.

Then....

Your first log was created with:

Logfile of HijackThis v1.98.2

The second was created with:

Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7

Please delete the older version and post your next log with the newer version (v1.98.2)

Then....

C:\WINDOWS\System32\wuauclt.exe is the AutoUpdate for WindowsME. Was this system upgraded from ME?

Then....

Logoff your internet connection.Please press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and open Task Manager. End the following process by selecting it and pressing the End Process button and clicking Yes to the confirmation message:

mwsoemon.exe

Run HijackThis, close all browsers and any other windows, place a checkmark next to the following items. Click "fix checked".

Hi, Its still not fixed, but ive realised it only goes to 100% after I open a game called Bzflag. I still want to play the game though
