Please help
i posted this in hardware too, because i have no idea what the problem is.
I recently replaced my mother board(old one was fried), bought new rams, and a new graphic card. but I did not get the results I expected, afterall i did spent a few hundred dollars. I would notice a dramatic slow down in FPS after an hour or so gaming time in Half life 2 doom 3 and some other games, with the medium graphic settings applied. the only way to fix this would be to restart the computer....( i assure you i have no spyware or virus, scanned them like crazy, in safe mode too, also my CPU temperature is normal at 100c idle, and 104 when running games) SO pissed off, i downloaded various utilities to find out why this is so, everest home edtion being one of them, I used the memory read bench mark test, it rated my P4 2533 MHZ at 532 MB per sec, among P2 266 MHZ and DURON 850MHZ, while a P4 2400 rated 2240 MB/s. When my computer has a fresh start, it rated 1400, again still much lower than normal computers...So you see the problem..... something with my BIOs? my setting? or the motherboard i just got is no good? here are some specs of my PC... Motherboard: CPU Type Intel Pentium 4, 2533 MHz (19 x 133) Motherboard Name Foxconn 661M03-G (3 PCI, 1 AGP, 2 DDR DIMM, Audio, Video, LAN, IEEE-1394) Motherboard Chipset SiS 661FX System Memory 1024 MB (DDR SDRAM) BIOS Type Award (01/22/05) Display: Video Adapter RADEON 9550 Secondary (256 MB) Video Adapter RADEON 9550 (256 MB) 3D Accelerator ATI Radeon 9550 (RV350) Monitor Samsung SyncMaster 1100p [21" CRT] (H3NRB04351) Storage: IDE Controller SiS PCI IDE Controller SCSI/RAID Controller D347PRT SCSI Controller Floppy Drive Floppy disk drive Disk Drive WDC WD1200AB-22CBA1 (111 GB, IDE Temperatures Motherboard 28 °C (82 °F) CPU 38 °C (100 °F) Cooling Fans CPU 2961 RPM Chassis 2109 RPM Voltage Values CPU Core 1.39 V +3.3 V 3.26 V +5 V 4.89 V +12 V 11.84 V ANY help would be appreciated thanx a lot |
