Problems updating avg/spybot & running win update

Hey all,

Got a machine that is got me stumped! I can browse the internet fine, download stuff no probs. BUT i can't update AVG, it says a connection to the server could not be established. So i thought i would run a spybot cus reinstalling avg didn't help. Downloaded spybot and....Can't update, socket 10061 error....so i got adaware and....can't update, just says update failed! So i thought i would run a windows update, went to the windows update page (in IE) and ... the website has encountered a problem... error 0x80072EFD

eh?!

Tis windows xp home....

any help would be apprecaited here !!

Hi all, I am only new to this, I have only registered. I am having the exact same problem as stated above. I cannot seem to connect to the server in order to update my AVG or my SpyBot. I wonder could anybody help me please.

Create a new folder only for HijackThis (Example : C:\HJT).But don't let it on
your desktop or in a temp folder!
Unzip it to this folder.
Click "Scan", after click "Save Log".
Save the log, and copy/paste it into your response to this thread.

Due to fourm restrictions you will have to edit out the URL's before posting logs.

I'm having the same problem being unable to update antivirus software and random crashes.

I've run HJT and posted the log, so if you can figure a way to help me I'd be eternally grateful
