Hi Phil,
I may be able to help you get those tulips back ![]() Please download HijackThis. Make sure you install HijackThis to a permanent folder such as C:\HJT as it creates backups of what we will fix. Run the program, click the button at the top "Do a system scan and save a logfile". Save the log to a convenient place such as C:\HJT Notepad will open, copy and paste the entire log into your post. Do not fix anything yet, most of what's in the log is needed! http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html Tom

You might want to print these instructions for reference or copy and paste them into notepad and save them on your desktop, as you will be off the internet while using HijackThis.
If you have any questions before starting the fix, please don't hesitate to ask! Please go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove programs and remove: Security iGuard < it is considered a suspect rogue antispyware remover. Spybot Search & Destroy and Adaware are much safer. Next... Download Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition version 1.05 from: http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/ Run Adaware, click the "Check for Updates now" link. Install the latest reference file Just update it for now, you will scan with it later! Next... Boot into Safe Mode. Restart your computer, start tapping F8 when your computer first starts booting, there will be a menu displayed > select Safe Mode. Run HijackThis, click scan, place a checkmark next to the following items. Close all browsers and any other windows or the fix may not work! Click "fix checked". It is OK if some of these items are no longer listed. O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Shell] open32.exe O15 - Trusted Zone: *.blazefind.com (HKLM) O15 - Trusted Zone: *.clickspring.net (HKLM) O15 - Trusted Zone: *.flingstone.com (HKLM) O15 - Trusted Zone: *.horse-active.net (HKLM) O15 - Trusted Zone: *.mt-download.com (HKLM) O15 - Trusted Zone: *.my-internet.info (HKLM) O15 - Trusted Zone: *.searchbarcash.com (HKLM) O15 - Trusted Zone: *.searchmiracle.com (HKLM) O15 - Trusted Zone: *.skoobidoo.com (HKLM) O15 - Trusted Zone: *.slotch.com (HKLM) O15 - Trusted Zone: *.slotchbar.com (HKLM) O15 - Trusted Zone: *.windupdates.com (HKLM) O15 - Trusted Zone: *.xxxtoolbar.com (HKLM) O15 - Trusted Zone: *.ysbweb.com (HKLM) O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Security iGuard] C:\Program Files\Security iGuard\Security iGuard.exe These are resource hogs that can be fixed also: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot O4 - Global Startup: BigFix.lnk = C:\Program Files\BigFix\BigFix.exe < can be run manually O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE Next... Make sure your computer is configured to show all files and folders. Click Start. Open My Computer. Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options. Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden Files and Folders heading select Show Hidden Files and Folders. Uncheck hide extensions for known file types. Uncheck the Hide Protected Operating System Files option. Click Yes to confirm. Click OK. Search for and delete the following file: open32.exe Next.... Go to Start > Run > type "cleanmgr" (without the quotes). > Select the drive to clean up (usually C ) > Place a checkmark next to the following: Temporary Internet Files Recycle Bin Temporary Files Then click OK. Next... Perform a full system scan with Adaware, allow it to remove anything it finds. It may ask if it can run the next time your computer boots, allow it to do so. Reboot normally. Please post a fresh HijackThis log. Tom |
