Hi ekb111,
You might want to print these instructions. Logoff your internet connection. Please press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and open Task Manager. End the following process by selecting it and pressing the End Process button and clicking Yes to the confirmation message: ViewMgr.exe Run HijackThis, close all browsers and any other windows, place a checkmark next to the following items. Click "fix checked". O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0DA43DEE-6181-0A4D-EF8B-C1B3F32CC90D} - C:\PROGRA~1\WINSOF~1\warn link.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - (no file) O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file) Remove these if you don't recognize the programs. They look like LOP infections. O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Platform that] C:\PROGRA~1\WAVETI~1\REAL CLOSE.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Cake Aim Move 2] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\meal dart cake aim\Owns Software.exe Optional fixes. Ok to fix too: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE It is recommended uninstalling Messenger Plus, as it contains the LOP infection. Boot into Safe Mode. Reboot your computer, start tapping F8 when it first starts booting, select Safe Mode. Show hidden files: How to Show hidden files and folders. http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html Delete the following folders: C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ C:\PROGRA~1\WINSOF~1\ If you fixed the possible LOP infections, delete these folders too: C:\PROGRA~1\WAVETI~1\ C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\meal dart cake aim\ Reboot and post a fresh log. You are behind on Windows Updates. This leaves your computer open to many threats. You will just get infected again if you don't install these! Please update Windows and Internet Explorer. Download each critical update one by one, rebooting when necessary.. Repeat this until you get the message "no critical updates available". http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ Tom

Your log is clean! Good work!
You will get infected again if you don't get those Windows Updates!!! These are tools that will help keep you from getting infected again: SpywareBlaster will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies. http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html SpywareGuard is a real-time spyware scanner. http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareguard.html IE-SPYAD puts over 4000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all. http://www.staff.uiuc.edu/~ehowes/resource.htm#IESPYAD All are very small free programs. Occasionally check for updates. Adjust your security settings for ActiveX: Go to Internet Options/Security/Internet, press 'default level', then OK. Now press "Custom Level." In the ActiveX section, set the first two options ("Download signed and unsigned ActiveX controls) to 'prompt', and 'Initialize and Script ActiveX controls not marked as safe" to 'disable'. Check for updates for Windows and Internet Explorer every week or so. Download each critical update one by one, rebooting when necessary.. Repeat this until you get the message "no critical updates available" http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ Tom |

Repeat this until you get the message "no critical updates available". http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ If you have any problems using Windows Updates, please let me know and I will try and help you through it.
