You might want to print these instructions.

Logoff your internet connection. Please press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and open Task Manager. End the following process by selecting it and pressing the End Process button and clicking Yes to the confirmation message:

ViewMgr.exe

Run HijackThis, close all browsers and any other windows, place a checkmark next to the following items. Click "fix checked".

Remove these if you don't recognize the programs. They look like LOP infections.

It is recommended uninstalling Messenger Plus, as it contains the LOP infection.

Boot into Safe Mode. Reboot your computer, start tapping F8 when it first starts booting, select Safe Mode.

Show hidden files:

Delete the following folders:

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\

If you fixed the possible LOP infections, delete these folders too:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\meal dart cake aim\

Reboot and post a fresh log.

You are behind on Windows Updates. This leaves your computer open to many threats. You will just get infected again if you don't install these! Please update Windows and Internet Explorer. Download each critical update one by one, rebooting when necessary.. Repeat this until you get the message "no critical updates available". http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

Thanks a lot Tom. I'll get to this as soon as I can, but I'm moving between two locations at this moment and I can't access this computer. I was wondering if you could take a look at my other thread if u have the time, because this computer I'm typing on is what the other thread is about.

You will get infected again if you don't get those Windows Updates!!!

These are tools that will help keep you from getting infected again:

SpywareBlaster will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies. http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

SpywareGuard is a real-time spyware scanner.

IE-SPYAD puts over 4000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.

All are very small free programs. Occasionally check for updates.

Adjust your security settings for ActiveX:
Go to Internet Options/Security/Internet, press 'default level', then OK.
Now press "Custom Level."
In the ActiveX section, set the first two options ("Download signed and unsigned ActiveX controls) to 'prompt', and 'Initialize and Script ActiveX controls not marked as safe" to 'disable'.

Check for updates for Windows and Internet Explorer every week or so. Download each critical update one by one, rebooting when necessary.. Repeat this until you get the message "no critical updates available"

Hmm. When i restarted my computer. The infection came back, right after i cleared everything i should have with a clean log. My homepage is still hacked!

I havent gotten to the windows updates yet.

This is probably why you are reinfected.

Please update Windows and Internet Explorer. Download each critical update one by one, rebooting when necessary.. Repeat this until you get the message "no critical updates available". http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

If you have any problems using Windows Updates, please let me know and I will try and help you through it.
