Some web pages loading slowly..timing out with Google
Hi,

I think I picked up some malware or spyware on my new PC.

I have a usually quick and strong broadband signal, so my connection is not the problem.

Lately certain web pages, but not all, are loading very slowly if at all.

Can I post a hijackthis log and request some assistance?

Of course you can, Can you create a new thread as that way it wont get missed.

Ok, well first do you have an antivirus installed? if not download AVG.

Then dowload the following software:
Ewido
Adaware
Spybot
Hijackthis

Update your antivirus (or AVG), ewido, adaware and spybot. After updating can you run full system scans with the antivirus, ewido, adaware and spybot (this may take a while depending on the size of your disks). Then run the trend housecall.

After all this reboot and run hijackthis. Do a scan and save the log and post it here so we can see whats running on your machine.

Post back here if you run into any problems.

I am still having slow response times on popular sites such
as usa's www.espn.com. Again, sometimes they do not even load at all.

Did you update and run the above tools (adaware, ewido, spybot) and also a full virus scan?

Did they find anything?

Yes, there were some cookies found. I will post the results of the other scans. I took the steps necessary to delete the problem items. Then I ran the hijackthis log in my previous post. I am still having the same website problems. Many sites randomly do not load. Or they load with "done" at the bottom but no data or images. Then like a minute later, I will try the same site again and it comes up no problem. Weird and frustrating.
