Please update HijackThis, you are using an outdated version:

Open HijackThis, click Config > Misc Tools > Check for Update online

Or download a copy of version 1.98.2 at:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

Please delete the older version you are using now.

Post a fresh log with this new version.

I ran the good version of adaware the one you have to pay for, but pop-ups still come up. Thanks much man it's annoying to have to close a pop-up every two seconds.

Please keep in mind that you are seriously behind on Windows Updates. You need (at the minimum XP Service Pack 1, Internet Explorer Service Pack 1 and all the critical updates that go along with them. Getting these updates will help protect you from getting infected again! Let's get you cleaned-up a bit first.

You might want to print these instructions for reference or copy and paste them into notepad and save them on your desktop, as you will be off the internet while using HijackThis.

Next...

Make sure your computer is configured to show all files and folders.
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden Files and Folders heading select Show Hidden Files and Folders.
Uncheck hide extensions for known file types.
Uncheck the Hide Protected Operating System Files option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Search for and delete the following files:

Next....

Go to Start > Run > type "cleanmgr" (without the quotes). > Select the drive to clean up (usually C ) > Place a checkmark next to the following:

Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin
Temporary Files

Then click OK.

Next...

Run Spybot Search and Destroy. Scan and fix all items checked in RED.

Reboot normally.

Please post a fresh HijackThis log.

Thanks very good directions too. This is my friends computer and he doesn't know anything about them. So, I got rid of everything I could there where only a few I couldn't find. He might have got rid of them himself too.

By the way, your log is clean!!! Excellent work

Because you were infected, backups of the malware may be in System Restore.

1 Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2 Click the System Restore tab.
3 Check the "Turn off System Restore" or "Turn off System Restore on all drives" check box.
4 Click Apply
5 this will delete all existing restore points. Click Yes to do this.
6 Click OK.

Reboot

1 Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2 Click the System Restore tab.
3 Uncheck the "Turn off System Restore" or "Turn off System Restore on all drives" check box.
4 Click Apply
5 Click OK.

Create a new Restore Point:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > tick Create a Restore Point > Next > enter a name for the Restore Point Creation (Today, Removed Spyware, etc.) > Create > Close.

The date and time will automatically be added.

Also,

I don't see an antivirus program running in your log...

AVG has a new, free version available - AVG7 Free edition:

Be sure to update it right away and perform a full system scan.

And...

I don't see a firewall running in your log. Are you using the firewall in Service Pack 2's Security Center? If not...
