Symantec Anti Virus managed to Unmanaged problem
Is there anyway I could turn a managed SAV client to an unmanaged client without uninstalling it first?
I went to symantec website and it said to switch from managed to unmanaged, I needed to uninstall SAV from the workstation first and re-install using unmanaged option. The problem we have is that the parent server which was managing the SAV clients is now dead, and I can not uninstall SAV from the clients because it prompts for the uninstall password, and then it complains about bad password. I think that's because the parent server is gone. How can I uninstall SAV clients when the parent server is gone and the uninstall password is not working? Better yet, how can I turn those clients to unmanaged without having to uninstall? Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate Edition 8.1 Client OS: Windows 2000 & Windows XP |

I am experiencing the EXACT same problem. I was wondering if you came across a solution? If so, would you please share?

Use the password of "symantec"
Had the same situation, but I had just installed the server and the client. Don't know why they don't mention that in the help files! |
