Symantec UPX Parsing Engine Heap Overflow

There is a lot of chatter about a recent flaw in some of Symantec's products, including some Antivirus software. You can find details and discussions on this links:

http://www.sarc.com/avcenter/securi...2005.02.08.html
http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve.../m/694002979631

At the moment, it is very unclear as to whether LiveUpdate will fix this vulnerability or if a manual patch must be downloaded and applied. Does anyone have any clarifying information they can add?
