unwanted search bars and cpu overusage

dear all,

before i start, i'd like to say i have read a lot of other threadsd similar to mine already and followed much of the advice. i have downloaded and run both spybot and ad-aware, and have a current version of hijack this.

my problem: i have an annoying blue search bar which obliterates my task bar (called "search now!") - this opes up when i start internet explorer. i also have a search toolbar in IE that i dont want (i quite like the google one) - not sure what it is called and don't seem to be able to turn it off or uninstall it.

also, my computer is hurrendously slow and the cpu commonly shows a high percent usage.

i would be most grateful for any help or suggestions.

You might want to print these instructions for reference or copy and paste them into notepad and save them on your desktop, as you will be off the internet while using HijackThis.

Boot into Safe Mode. Restart your computer, start tapping F8 when your computer first starts booting, select Safe Mode.

Run HijackThis, click scan, place a checkmark next to the following items. Close all browsers and any other windows or the fix may not work! Click "fix checked". It is OK if some of these items are no longer listed.

Make sure your computer is configured to show all files and folders.
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden Files and Folders heading select Show Hidden Files and Folders.
Uncheck hide extensions for known file types.
Uncheck the Hide Protected Operating System Files option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Search for and delete the following folders:

C:\Documents and Settings\NICKFO...\Application Data\CREATI... < delete the entire CREATI... folder

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\LogoBarbBagsSafe < delete the entire LogoBarbBagsSafe folder

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ford live flap beep < delete the entire ford live flap beep folder

C:\Documents and Settings\NICKFO...\Application Data\chin64 < delete the entire chin64 folder

C:\PROGRAM FILES\CREATI... < delete the entire CREATI... folder

Next....

Go to Start > Run > type "cleanmgr" (without the quotes). > Select the drive to clean up (usually C ) > Place a checkmark next to the following:

Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin
Temporary Files

Then click OK.

Reboot normally.

Please post a fresh HijackThis log.
