Warning htm page on the desktop

Hi everyone, does anyone know how to remove the destop.htm from the desktop , it appeared when someone was on somekind of porn sites and get self instaled program which installed the page to the desktop, and it comes every time when computer been restarted, i've tried to use hijack.exe and it does not remove it, and adware doesn't do it ether, is any sugestions? i've cleaned all cookies and temfiles.

Hey sharkmak,

Enable everything in MSCONFIG (if you have disabled anything). Go to Start > Run > msconfig > click Startup Tab > everythig should have a checkmark to the left of it.

Download HijackThis (link below). Make sure you install HijackThis to a permanent folder such as C:\HJT as it creates backups of what we will fix. Run the program, press Scan, press Save log. Notepad will open, copy and paste the entire log into your post. Do not fix anything yet, most of what's in the log is needed!

i run win2k and when i type msconfig in command line id says that in cannot fine that componet to make sure if it's right, i've looked at system32 and winnt directory and couldnot find anything like msconfig. how do i enable everything?

You are right there is no Msconfig in Windows 2000. I guess I should mention that when I tell people how to use HijackThis.

A virus, trojan horse, spyware or some other rogue program has probably been installed on your computer. HijackThis is a program that allows detection and removal of such infections. If you post a log, maybe we can see what's going on under the hood.

thanx for help, i think it's too late to post a logfile as i've renewed local users profile and it fixed the problem till next time
