Hi dream_theater,

You might want to print these instructions for reference, as you will be off the internet while using HijackThis.

Please go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove:

MyDailyHoroscope
spydeleter

Logoff your internet connection. Run HijackThis, click scan, place a checkmark next to the following items. Close all browsers and any other windows or the fix may not work! Click "fix checked". It is OK if some of these items are no longer listed.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.begin2search.com/sidesearch.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.begin2search.com/sidesearch.html

This is a resource hog that is safe to remove:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot

Then....

Boot into Safe Mode. Reboot your computer, start tapping F8 when it first starts booting, select Safe Mode.

Make sure your computer is configured to show all files and folders.
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden Files and Folders heading select Show Hidden Files and Folders.
Uncheck the Hide Protected Operating System Files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Delete the following files:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\AANTX.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\idctup20.exe

Delete the following folders:

C:\PROGRAM FILES\MYDAILYHOROSCOPE

Reboot normally and post a fresh log.

You can try to fix this one again...

Were you able to uninstall spydeleter? There a better, free spyware/adware tools out there.

Reboot and please post a fresh log.

Try booting into Safe Mode and fixing it with HijackThis.

It was probably a drive-by download. It may have been installed without your knowledge or possibly another user installed it.

It's not too much to worry about as the line in your log says the file is missing anyway:

Do you have any extra buttons on the main IE button toolbar, or extra items in IE 'Tools' menu related to Spywaredeleter?

Response

Yes my IE explorer still has that red exclamation point that says I may be infected with spware.

Also my Norton Virus scanner stil detects 4 possible threats.
Though low caution threats they still appear everytime I run the scan?
Is this something I should be worried about..
Thanks again

Regarding those 4 threats....

I did a scan again and wrote down the files my Norton virus said were potentially dangerous....
Here they are...

The file name C:\Windows\system32\06wu29rd.exe

The file name Cocuments and Settings\Jeremy\Local\Settings\Temp\TI178C.tmp\preInsln.exe

The file name C:\Windows\preInsln.exe

The file name C:\Windows\system23\WebRebates_Auto\install\silent.exe, not to sure I copied down this one right though.

What are your thoughts on these things picked up during the scan?

Thanks

Yes they can all go....

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove programs. If WebRebates is shown, uninstall it.

C:\Windows\system32\06wu29rd.exe
C:\Windows\preInsln.exe

Open My Computer, browse to C:\documents and settings\User Name(repeat for all users)\local settings\temp folder and delete all files and folders in it.

Open My Computer, browse to C:\Windows\Temp folder and delete all files and folders in it.

Open Internet Explorer click Tools > Internet Options > General. Check "delete all offline content", click "Delete Files" then Click OK.

Empty your Recycle Bin.

Reboot normally.

Then....

Let's do an onlne virus scan from at least two of these sites:

Trend Micro Housecall

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Panda Active Scan

www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/activescan

Bitdefender

http://www.bitdefender.com/scan/licence.php

Please copy and paste the report logs into your next post.

Then...

Let's do some more cleaning up:

Download Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition from:

http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/

Run Adaware, click the "Check for Updates now" link. Install the latest reference file

Perform a "Full system scan" with Adaware. Remove all checked items.

Then...

Download, install and UPDATE Spybot Search and Destroy 1.3. Scan and fix all items checked in RED.

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Reboot and post a fresh HijackThis log.

Tom
