All are good, Some are better, Nothing is best.

avast is free and does not use a lot of system resource so you can go for that option.

I agree, AVAST is very good.
I have it on my son's computer.

Norton will slow down your system, especially if you do not have enough RAM. Norton has a leaves a huge footprint in your system.

Recently, I had to fix my friends computer, he had Norton and it let a "fake antivirus" (Rogue) pass through.
In addition his browser was "hijacked."

I had a hard time removing it, but did get it out.
I uninstalled Norton and installed MS Security Essentials and his computer now runs fast and he is happy.

Both antiviruses are good.
But if you want to see details - you have to read reviews of these programs.
Antiviruses differs in details: good or bad scanner, virus detection, firewall, virus database and etc.
You have to read reviews if these products and then decide - what parameters are most important for you.

Norton has better Real World Testing (100% to avast!'s 91%)and malware detection ratings(Norton: 86% Avast!: 68%), in the latest tests, however avast! is a good, cheap, alternative.

Between Avast and Norton I have to choose one I will chose Avast. The reason is its ability to not affect my computer speed. Whenever I used Norton my PC become slow.

I use Avast for my PC , it doesn't effect your computer's performance and protects your PC well. On the other hand Norton effects your computers performance as it is heavy antivirus as compared to avast.

Both antiviruses are able to remove all kind of threads but Norton will slow down the speed of your system and Avast is light. So i suggest to go with Avast.

Avast Antivirus Protection Is Better Than Norton?

Hello, everyone!!

Johnhardy009, both Avast or Norton antivirus, are good and working well. If you use them free or trail version, then Avast antivirus protection will be better. It is because, it is for 59 days and have strong ethic to catch virus and mall-ware....

Nod32 is the best !

I am not a big fan of free antiviruses as I have often found them to be sub standard.

I like Eset Nod32 as it is fast and effective. I have been using it for over 3 years and last time I formatted by computer was 4 years back.
