Win2k startup problem
Hi, I'm running Windows2000 on a laptop (IBM Thinkpad).
Starting yesterday, whenever I start Windows (whether normally or in safemode), I get stuck with a blank desktop after the starting windows, and logon to Windows screen. I tried bringing up the task manager with Ctrl+Alt+Delete, and in the Processes List, I noticed that these 3 programs keep showing up by rotation: "ntry.exe", "javavs32.exe" and "sysvr32.exe" At any one time, there'd be at least 2 copies of each, they disappear immediately and a new one show up soon after, thus I cannot use "End Process" to stop them. since I'm still stuck at the blank desktop, with no startmenu, I can't run any virus scanner either. The computer was working fine the day before it happened, but I have been having intermitten browser-hijack problems. Does anyone know how to fix it? Thank you very much. |

(^^;(Oh! These are unknown, uninteligible, alien files. I suppose.)
For the moment, let's copy from repair folder. as I wrote here: http://forums.devshed.com/t166228/s.html If it works, go to Spywareforum. |

Thanks, managed to get it back to the way it was
(i.e. fully functioning except browser still hijacked, but at least I can start copying out all the important data files) |
