Apache and Windows XP??

how can I start Apache in Windows XP? I tried to click on the Start Apache in the start menu/programs/ but nothing does anything.

I have everything set up correctly as this isn't the first time setting it up but first time using XP.

It should be installed in your admin service already. It's in Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services ... You will see "Apache", so you can decide if you want to it to be start by automatic or manual.

If it's nothing there, then go to http://httpd.apache.org/docs/windows.html ; it explains everything.

Also, next time please tell us what kind of error you got, so we can know the more answer than one or nothing.

Apache wasn't installed on my computer as a service so I downloaded a .msi file and it installed as a service.

Thank you so much

You don't really need to download *.msi file. My Apache has been compiled by myself on the Win2k. It's same link that I gave it to you above. This link has another link inside, so it's at http://httpd.apache.org/docs/win_service.html .

It's just for in future, in case if you want to mess around with Apache on the Service and others.
