When running apache on SUN Sparc 2.6, I get this error:
ocean# ./apachectl start Syntax error on line 205 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load /usr/local/apache/libexec/mod_vhost_alias.so into server: ld.so.1: /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd: fatal: relocation error: file /usr/local/apache/libexec/mod_vhost_alias.so: symbol ap_table_setn: referenced symbol not found ./apachectl start: httpd could not be started Thank you, Cindy |

Too bad you are on Sun which is known to use non-standard UNIX path layout (just like any Linux). Recompile Apache and set the PREFIX to /usr/local, don't use /usr/local/apache, your error should be disappeared immediately.
