    rpm -q apache

If it shows you the installed apache package along with version number, well, you may go ahead and edit your httpd.conf.
It might be found in /usr/local/apache/conf. I don't run redhat, so I dunno the path.

My old version of Apache (set up by RedHat
during the installation) put the .conf
    files at /etc/httpd/conf.
