Apache-SSL
Greetings All,
I'm trying to get Apache running on Debain Linux with the SSL module. I'm using the package manager, with the apt-get command ie apt-get install apache. I have apache running and have loaded the Mod-ssl package, but I can't work out how to configure the already running apache server! My other option is getting the apache-ssl package for debian to run on http as well, but I can't seem to get that one going either. If you suggest anything I'd really appreciate it because I need to get this server live yesterday! Thanks, Zitan |

As we should all aware by now, Apache is highly configurable with various configure options, installing Apache with any precompiled binary is not the way to go. Needless to say any further, just get mod_ssl-2.8.4-1.3.20.tar.gz and apache_1.3.20.tar.gz then compile manually.
Anything that's highly configurable, don't use apt-get install. |
